Artist Residency in San Antonio

The idea for this building came from the lively artist community around the San Antonio area of Texas. The building would be created as a habitable space but the outside would remain unfinished. During the artist residency there, each artist would get subsidized rent and space to create their art in exchange for being able to help create some of the paneling of the building. By using standard fittings and some guidelines, the panels could be made from different materials and leave each individual artists creative mark on the building. The future state of the panels could remain on the building for years to come or be auctioned off to help fund programming.
